Obituary of Blakney Starr Bent
Blakney Starr Bent born April 8th, 1946 in Middleton, Nova Scotia passed away on January 25, 2018 in Annapolis Royal. Living with a severe heart condition for a number of years, Blake was called home. Keeping in true bay shore manner, Blake loved his friends and neighbours and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. His humor and teasing nature endeared him to everyone he encountered. Above all Blakney was kind; he demonstrated generosity on a daily basis. His deep expansive love for his grandchildren was very apparent. Proud is the word to describe Blake's feelings toward his grand babies. Blake was an expert in the areas of hunting, dancing, truck driving and tormenting. He said, "Laughter was the best medicine," which he made a point of taking in large doses. On April 23rd, 1977 Blakney married his soulmate; Gail Hudson. They built a life together in Young's Cove. Raising two energetic sons; Mark and Shane kept the couple busy for a number of years. Consistently supporting one another, Blake and Gail remained lovingly committed to one another for over 40 years.
