I aquired my love of gardening and growing food from Jim. Spent many years buying excess veg from Jim & Jo until Jim finally gave me the courage (& wisdom) to start growing my own. Such a gift he has given me. Still I never trusted myself to grow my beloved San Marzano tomatoes. Jim grew those annually for me so I could make my Aunt Sharon’s pomodoro sauce. We will miss your wry sense of humour Jim. I bet the garden in heaven will become a bit brighter with you there. RIP

Some of us are lucky enough in life to meet and make friends with exceptional people. Jim (and of course Jo) was one of those exceptional souls. Jim was always happier in the background, helping out quietly. If we ever had to go away in the winter Jim insisted on keeping our furnace going or at least making sure we came home to a warm house. He even used his snowblower to clear a path down our 300ft driveway so we could get home after a big storm. We enjoyed endless laughs and jokes with our dear friend and even more precious shared tears, hugs and loving talks during the last 15 months of his life. Jim, our dear friend, will be sadly missed by all who knew him.❤️
