Obituary of David Lloyd Hudson
David Lloyd George Hudson
Born Port Wade, 1938. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Hudson, at Kentville Regional Hospital July 5th, 2019. David is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Les (Angela), daughter Seretha (Jason), daughter Cora (Jason), daughter Liz, son Ernie as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. David was a skilled carpenter and made many beautiful clocks, furniture and model fishing boats. He enjoyed sitting in the gazebo, playing crib with friends and collecting coins.
After he retired from the school board, where he was a janitor for many years, he fell in love with reading. Whether he was on the high seas with Earnest Hemmingway or on a new adventure with a good Mike Parker book, he was happy. David loved it best being surrounded by family and we would be barely out the door when he’d ask “when are you coming back.”
His heart was Dorothy and his family, and he was Papa to many. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. David is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Viola (Chute) Hudson, as well as his brothers Ken, Garnet, and sisters Audrey O’Neil, Dorothy VanTassel and Eleanor Hunt and son Leo.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 10, 2019 from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Port Wade Cemetery. Reception to follow on “Hudson Hill” in Port Wade– home of David, Dorothy, Les and Ange. Donations in memory of David may be sent to the Annapolis Community Health Centre or to a charity of one’s choice. On line condolences may be sent at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
