Anne was my backyard neighbour for ever so long. When I would be working on the property, she would drift over with a dog in her arms to tell amazingly lengthy stories that held me spellbound. I didn't worry about getting a word in edgewise - her intelligence and vivacity were awesome in the extreme. The obit says that "Anne will be remembered for her quick wit" - well, I guess! It was such an honour to play for her at her service today. I extend sincere sympathy to Susan, Matthew and Katherine at this difficult time.

Anne was my dad's loving partner for decades. Her style, heart, and gift for a perfect turn of phrase will be deeply missed. Bridgetown will seem even smaller without her. Sincere condolences to her children.

I'm one of the many friends that met Anne Marie during our high school days. Anne Marie was my date at our high school graduation prom.
My father drove us there and he wondered how such a beautiful, vivacious young woman could possibly be my date.
After I left for Europe in 1963, we exchanged letters for some years. That's how we communicated back then.
Anne Marie ended her letters with the greeting: ''missing you!''
We last chatted on the phone several years ago and,
as usual, she was very strong in her opinions. Three years ago we last exchanged e-mails and finally I sent her a letter to the long term care home last year.
Now, dear Anne Marie, until, God willing, we meet again, my last greeting is:''missing you!''

Ann La Roux was my best friend over my lifetime. We met in 1970 when she and David witherly were finishing their Masters from McGill. She lived in a small flat across the street and we visited often. When she went to N.S. I visited her Mom to find out how she was. I had been at the wedding just after graduation and just before they left Montreal. Before that Anne and I used to share a crowd of pals who worked in the Social Work Dept. of the University. The history is long and yet it lasted through so many vast changes in our lives. We were always there for each other and Ann's generosity of heart was colossal. She cared for me following a tragic accident and arranged all my business affairs while I recovered. She always knew what to do and did it well. One of the smartest people I have ever known, I was glad when she found a partnership with Cameron who was another brainiac. We had wonderful times together and when apart remained in close touch. I miss Her Honor, and I am so grateful to have had her in my life for 52 years. Bless her journey forward.

When I moved to the Annapolis Royal area in 1996, Anne was one of the first people I met. She prepared lunch for all of us and then proceeded to crack the dryest jokes. She had me in stitches. The last time I saw Anne I congratulated her on becoming a grandma again. We shall miss you Anne. Rest in Peace.

Rest well my freind. Sadly missed by your Irish pals. I always enjoyed our chats, be they in person, or via our transatlanctic phone calls, on so many different topics. No doubt you have big plans on some renovations for heaven.
