Gordon Warren Brittain
July 6, 1948 – November 17, 2023
Brittain, Gordon Warren “Gordie” – age 75, of Bridgetown, formerly of Granville Centre, passed away peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown on November 17, 2023.
Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Warren and Jean (Cox) Brittain.
In 1967, when he moved from Halifax to Granville Centre, Gordie loved helping with the family farm. While working for Carlton Road Industries (formerly The Revolving Door) Gordie took great pride in mowing lawns, refinishing furniture and manufacturing kindling. Gordie was an active member of the Annapolis Special Olympics, travelling the province participating in track and field events and his true love bowling.
Gordie is survived by his sister, Beth (Wayne) Forsyth of Nictaux, niece Kimberly (Marc) Dondale of East Torbrook, nephew Matthew (Sherri) Connell of Nictaux. Also surviving is his great-niece, Emma (Greg) Sarty of Tremont and great-nephews, Adrian (Brooke) Dondale of Brickton and Trent and Wesley Connell of Nictaux.
Besides his parents, Gordie was predeceased by his sister, Carol Brittain.
The family wishes to express a very special “thank you’ to all the staff at the Mountains and Meadows Care Group for the care, kindness and compassion that bestowed on Gordie during his many years there.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 25 at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Burial in Wadeville Cemetery.
