Obituary of Margaret Whitman
The family of Margaret Whitman is saddened to announce her passing in June 28th at Grandview Manor in Berwick. Margaret was born in Round Hill on March 8, 1934 and moved to Tupperville when she was two, where she and her siblings grew up on the family farm. Margaret loved farm life – everything from tending to the livestock, to gardening and helping to gather in the hay.
As a young woman, Margaret attended the Mac Business College in Kentville. She had a keen mind for numbers and worked in the finance department of Province House in Halifax for a few years. City life wasn’t for Margaret, so she returned home to the Valley where she worked at Baltzer’s in Annapolis Royal for several years before finishing her working career at Clyde Everett Limited/VJ Rice Concrete.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Lillian Joudrey, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elsie, and her siblings Henry, Robert (Bob), Mary, Agnes (Aggie), Charles, and nephews, Keith and Malcolm Inglis.
Margaret will forever be remembered for her quick humor, witty conversation and her very generous nature – for she has touched many of our lives in a very positive way. Special thanks go out to the wonderful staff at Grandview Manor for their dedication and care.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held 11am Saturday, July 20, 2024, from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment to follow in the family plot in Round Hill Cemetery. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
