Sincere, heartfelt condolences to the family. Your mom will always be a huge part of my memories in Clementsport.
From the old Legion on the beach, to the building of the new one, we kids were so much a part of each others lives. We shared the fun, laughter & good times along with our parents. So thankful to have those precious memories to share with you. So sorry for your loss, love Cindy.

Oh the precious memories I have of your wonderful mom. She took me in and treated me like another family member. During my time there in the summers, Major Jean and I would pick her up on Friday evenings, for our little jaunt to the Clementsport Legion for supper. She sure loved it when there was music and she could sing along. When possible she always requested "Country Roads". Hang on to your precious memories. Love to all.

I want to pass on my condolences to the friends and family of Jean Merritt. My wife and I had the pleasure of speaking with Jean several times when we conducted church services at Annapolis Royal Nursing Home. Jean was a lovely lady and brought us great joy and humour whenever we visited. She will be missed.

Our thoughts are with the Merritt Family as they celebrate the wonderful life of matriarch, Jean. We will be making a donation to the Legion Kitchen Reno Fund in her memory, knowing how much she loved cooking for family, friends and community. And she was famous for it - almost as famous as her delightful singing voice! Somewhere, she is entertaining in style, and she will not be forgotten!
Love to you all - Neil & Donna

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to all of the Merritt family. Jean was such a wonderful and kind lady. We will always remember her showing us clippings in her kitchen or sitting at the Legion chatting with us all. Her long life will make us miss her all the more. The renovated kitchen at the Legion will be a constant reminder of Jean and a life well lived.
With regret, Carmelita and Dick

Krys and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Jean was truly a beautiful person, and all who knew her will will be diminished by her passing. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven, where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

My parents should be writing this condolence for me: they were the ones who took my brothers and me to the Sea Shell restaurant often on a Sunday evening. It was always the best dining experience imaginable. The combination of Wynn, Diana and Jean, with their varied talents in this enterprise, was so perfect. Jean was always my favourite, however, as her good sense of humour and fun permeated the meal - we'd always make sure we made contact with her before we left. I extend my sympathy to Jean's family at this difficult time.

Good-bye to a wonderful, classy lady! Jean was a special part of Clementsport, stalwart supporter of community organizations and her church. She could often be seen holding court at the Friday night suppers at Clementsport Legion, and soaking up the musical entertainment afterwards. She often said it was the highlight of her week.
She was a mother to all, making us feel like we were a part of her large family.
Deepest sympathy to her loving family. She will be missed.

Auntie Jean's spirit will be with me forever and lives on in all of us.
As her sister Diana's youngest daughter, I was the 'baby' of our generation and got spoiled by her love and attention.
Now she is gone, but her spirit lives on.
It will be at every kitchen party and sing song, in every ginger cookie and hot ham dinner, and every time someone takes an interest in someone else and listens and accepts them for who they are. Jean's spirit lives in all of us.
Love and hugs to all,
Jane

My deepest sympathies to the Merritt family.
Although I only had the pkeasure of Jean's company on a few occasions - when she was visiting Sherwood Park and another time when she graciously welcomed me into her home for a short vacation - I remember those times fondly. Jean had a generous and loving spirit and was a wise soul.
I know her family family has many fabulous memories and that these memories will live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Keep those memories alive through stories and laughter. That has great healing power.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Joycr
