Merritt, Jean Meaby, Jan 22, 1922. Mom passed away peacefully at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home on Wed Sept. 2, 2015 at the great age of 93½. Mom was the matriarch of the Merritt family and leaves to cherish her memory loving daughters: Sharon, Debi (Keith), Becky (Victor), son Tony (Jennifer) daughter-in-law Paula, sister Diana and nieces Trish and Jane. Her beautiful grandchildren who constantly brought a twinkle to her eye and song to her heart; only granddaughter Jodi (Craig) grandsons: Chris Jr. ( Caroline), Matthew, Michael (Seung-hui) , Justin (Ashley), Andrew (Su), Elliott (Mike), Colin (Michelle), Josh and her sweet great granddaughters Lara, Samantha and Lily. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn, son Chris, sister Wynn and her parents Harry and Gladys Wallis.
Mom was a very active member of the Clementsport community and a tireless volunteer. She was a long time member of St. Edwards Anglican Guild, Clementsport Legion where she was a life time Auxiliary member, member of the Home and School and the Clementsport Historical Society. We have fond memories of mom and her sister Diana managing the Sea Shell Dining Room and Craft Centre, carrying on the legacy of their sister Wynn. Mom’s kitchen was always a beehive of activity and her most favorite place to entertain: morning coffee with Marg and friends, afternoon tea , doing crosswords, great conversations, wonderful stories and of course her constant singing while she worked away cooking amazing meals especially her Saturday night special baked beans and biscuits! Nothing pleased Mom more than Friday night dinners and singsongs at the Clementsport Legion.Family and friends were her passion- she truly was the most genuine and honest person. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday Sept. 7, 2015 at St. Edwards Anglican Church, Clementsport with Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Private family interment will be in Old St. Edwards Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow in the Clementsport Legion.
