~~MARILYN JEAN TAYLOR
Age 64, Rossway, Digby Co., has gone to be with her Lord.   It is with great sadness her loved ones announce Marilyn’s sudden passing on May 11, 2017 as a result of a tragic accident close to home.  Born in Moncton, NB, April 2, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Marguerite and Rolfe Colpitts.
Her family meant the world to her so it is with broken hearts this beautiful spirited woman leaves behind her best friend and husband of 43 years, David Taylor, and their children, Joshua (Monica), Beaverlodge, Alberta; Stephanie (Anthony Meuse), Bear River, Annapolis Co.; Jason (Bethany Lewis), Rossway, Digby, Co.  Her grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Spencer, Nadya, Eva, Lena (Lepine), Sofia (Lepine), Liam (Meuse), Olivia; step grandchildren, Crystal (Lepine), Charlee and Brock (Orde); brothers, Ronald (Marion), Ian (Barb), Paul (Jill); nieces, nephews; extended family, Tyrone Lepine.
As a couple, Marilyn and Dave were co-pastors at Annapolis Basin Vineyard Church and lovingly touched lives with a heart for mission and outreach work both locally and abroad.  Marilyn was a dedicated and accomplished worker in every workplace.  A past employee for Digby Pines kitchen, Spring Water Christian School, NS Tourist Bureau on Shore Rd. and currently employed by Access NS Digby.  She was always looking for ways to use her skills and blessings and to pay it forward – evident in her volunteer work with Conway Workshop as a Board Member and endless acts of kindness she delivered far and wide.  She never hesitated to engage in challenging ideas as a lifelong learner and in 2002 received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo – an accomplishment her family was very proud of.
Marilyn will be remembered by her cherished friends and family for her warm hugs, intelligent conversations, patience with everyone, a woman with a generous, compassionate and helping spirit.  Her creative hands reached wide – only days before her passing she’d displayed her finished quilt “Fire Hosta” in their living room.  A member of Monday Sewing Group, Fundy Tide Quilters Guild & Seaside Strippers, she was eager to learn from each project brought to these groups.  Her preserves, baking and food dishes were often given away to those who needed a pick-me-up or a potluck dish for a shared meal.  The Victorian Angel Tree and Christmas Village with hundreds of pieces lovingly displayed told a story with an eye for detail. Swims, camping, making things, endless time with her adored grandchildren – these were gifts from Nana Marilyn’s heart and soul and will be cherished – just as precious as the memory of Marilyn Taylor will be to us all.
A Celebration Service to honor her life is on Friday May 19 at 2 pm, Digby Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff White, Pastor Dr. Rik and Cathy Berry with Marilyn’s husband and love of her life, Pastor Dave Taylor, officiating.  Everyone is invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments to follow at the Church Hall.
Donations will be accepted for Greater Europe Mission, GEMCanada@gemission.com or the charity of your choice and in memory of Marilyn, a random act of kindness would be appreciated.  Online condolences and memories of her may be shared by visiting www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com or her face book page.
